3	Remove screws (2) of bearing cap (3) from axle tube (5).
4	Remove switch cylinder from differential lock.	When removing left rear axle shaft (4).

5	Unhook hand brake cable.
6	Pull out rear axle shaft (4).	Model 461 with code B02 (Anti-lock braking system (ABS)) with disk brakes on the rear axle Model 463 (except 463.270/271) up to model year 2013 with code B02 (Anti-lock braking system (ABS)) with disk brakes on the rear axle Do not damage the pulse ring. Otherwise, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) will be rendered inoperative.
7	Remove sealing ring from tapered roller bearing outer race.
8	Remove seal between axle tube (5) and brake carrier plate.
	Check
9	Check rear axle shaft (4) and its component parts for damage.	If problems are found,
		↓
		replace damaged component parts of rear axle shaft (4) or rear axle shaft (4).	AR35.30-P-7351 F
	Install
10	Install seal between axle tube (5) and brake carrier plate.	Replace seal between axle tube (5) and brake carrier plate.
11	Slide sealing ring onto tapered roller bearing outer race.
12	Insert rear axle shaft (4).	The marking of the direction of rotation on the rear axle shaft (4) must match the actual direction of rotation during forward travel. Otherwise, greater axle damage will occur. Model 461 with code B02 (Anti-lock braking system (ABS)) with disk brakes on the rear axle Model 463 (except 463.270/271) up to model year 2013 with code B02 (Anti-lock braking system (ABS)) with disk brakes on the rear axle Do not damage the pulse ring. Otherwise, the anti-lock braking system (ABS) will be rendered inoperative.
		Before installing, make sure that the O-ring is positioned on the support ring.
13	Hook in hand brake cable.
14	Screw in screws (2) of bearing cap (3) on axle tube (5).	Tighten screws (2) evenly in a crosswise pattern up to contact surface of bearing cap (3) and brake carrier plate on axle tube (5). Then tighten each in a crosswise pattern by half a turn until the specified tightening torque is reached. Otherwise, the bearing cap (3) will work its way loose. 15	Install switch cylinder of differential lock.	When removing left rear axle shaft (4).

16.1	Install left rear axle RPM sensor (L6/3) or right rear axle RPM sensor (L6/4).	Model 463.306/336/346 up to model year 2013
		Model 463.306/336/346 as of model year 2010 up to model year 2013	AR42.30-P-0714GY
		Make sure that the magnetic end of the left rear axle RPM sensor (L6/3) or right rear axle RPM sensor (L6/4) is clean. Otherwise, malfunctions or failures may occur.
16.2	Measure distance between pulse ring and left rear axle RPM sensor (L6/3) or right rear axle RPM sensor (L6/4) and install.
