Before starting work, note:
Do not support the tool on the housing, gears or shafts. In some places it may be necessary to fabricate appropriate padding from suitable material.
When using tools, be careful not to damage surfaces.
Do not drop or mix up the bearings, the bearing shells, the pressure rings and the thrust washers.
This shortens the service life and affects the function of the components.
Always replace the bearings or bearing shells with the help of tools after they have been removed.
Always replace all bearings as a unit, if necessary consisting of a bearing shell and cage, with the associated thrust washers or thrust pieces. Always renew the shaft sealing rings.
Installation
: Do not apply pressure or tension to the bearing cage.
This destroys the bearing cage.
After the repair work is complete:
Renew damaged paint surfaces or corrosion protection.
