	Remove/install
1	Check seat belts and buckles for external damage and correct operation
2	Move seat to foremost position and seat backrest to vertical position
3	Withdraw ignition key
4.1	Remove B-pillar trim (3)	Only on model with wheelbase 2850 mm.	AR68.30-P-4700G
		Model 463.221/225/228/231/233/241/321/325/328/331 up to model year 2010 Wheelbase 2850 mm
4.2	Remove side wall lining	Only on model with station wagon, wheelbase 2400 mm.

5	Disconnect electrical connector from driver seat belt tensioner squib (R12/1) or front passenger seat belt tensioner squib (R12/2)
6	Remove bolt from automatic belt retractor (4)	Check that seat belt tensioner is properly seated in catch.

7	Remove automatic belt retractor (4)	Never use oil or grease to eliminate noises. Otherwise, the function may be impaired. Warranty no longer applies to automatic belt retractors (4) that have been opened. If the seat belt with seat belt tensioner is replaced, the defective seat belt with seat belt tensioner must be disposed of properly. It is perfectly normal for the inertia reel to make a noise when rolling up the seat belt strap. For a problem involving unreasonable levels of noise, the seat belt with seat belt tensioner has to then be replaced. Note if inertia reel is for left or right version.
8	Install in the reverse order
