Location
The stationary heater control unit is integrated in the stationary heater unit, which is arranged at the left in the engine compartment.
Tasks
The stationary heater control unit has the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Actuation of components
Reading in of signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The stationary heater control unit reads in the signals of the following components over direct lines:
- Stationary heater radio remote control receiver (A6/1)
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit (A6r4) (internal)
- Stationary heater temperature sensor (A6b1) (internal)
- Stationary heater thermal fuse (A6f1) (internal)
If the temperature in the stationary heater unit exceeds 125 °C, the stationary heater thermal fuse recognizes overheating via the stationary heater temperature sensor and switches the stationary heater off with subsequent overheat interlock.
Interior CAN
The stationary heater control unit reads in the following signals over the interior CAN:
- Circuit 15 status as sent by the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73)
- Stationary heater button status (N72/1 s30), sent from SAM control unit (N10)
- Crash signal, sent by Supplemental Restraint System control unit (N2/10)
- Departure time activated, sent by instrument cluster (A1)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the relevant components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The stationary heater control unit actuates the following components over direct lines:
- Stationary heater combustion air blower (A6m2) (internal)
- Stationary heater radio remote control receiver
- Stationary heater glow plug/flame monitor unit (internal)
- Stationary heater switchover valve (Y16)
- Stationary heater fuel pump (Y23)
Interior CAN
The stationary heater control unit sends the request to actuate the stationary heater status indication in the stationary heater button via the interior CAN to the SAM control unit.
