Connecting Hand-Held Tester (HHT), Reading Fault Memory - AD00.00-P-2000-03D

  1. Connect hand-held tester (087) to the datalink connector (X11/4) using the test cable (multiplexer) (094).
  2. Switch on ignition.
  3. According to instructions in display:
    1. Read/erase fault memory
    2. Read actual values
    3. Perform actuations
    4. Program control modules
  4. Disconnect HHT.

IMPORTANT Pay attention to variations for specific systems which are listed in the chapter "Basic knowledge for diagnosis" of the respective diagnosis description.

Stored faults which may be caused by disconnecting cables or by simulation during test operations, have to be erased in the fault memory after completing the work.

Connect Hand-Held Tester (HHT) as follows: 

Black cable, terminal 31: Socket 1

White cable, terminal 15: Socket 16

Red cable, terminal 30: Battery +

087 Hand-Held Tester (HHT)

093 4-pin test cable

X11/4 Data link connector (DTC readout)

Socket 1 Terminal 31

Socket 16 Terminal 15
