The upper control panel control unit is located on the center console.
Tasks
The upper control panel control unit performs the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Sending signals
Reading in of signals
The upper control panel control unit reads in requests for function feedback via the battery sensor LIN (LIN B15) or, with code E11 (Stealth light with convoy lamp), via the stealth light LIN (LIN B40), stealth light control unit (N1) and battery sensor LIN. These are then transmitted by the SAM control unit (N10).
The activities of the following functions are fed back to the control and display elements installed in the upper control panel of the control unit through corresponding LEDs:
- Anti-theft alarm system (with code FZ5 (Anti-theft alarm system) or code FZ8 (Alarm system))
- Parking system (with CODE EZ8 (Parktronic))
- Front seat heater
- Front seat ventilation button (with code S50 (Seat ventilation for driver and front passenger seat) or code PA1 (Seating comfort package))
- Stationary heater (with code H12 (Stationary heater))
- ECO start/stop function (with CODE MJ7 (ECO start/stop function))
- Hazard warning system
- Seat occupancy recognition on front passenger seat
Sending signals
The upper control panel control unit transmits the function requests of the following buttons to the SAM control unit via the battery sensor LIN or, with code E11 (Stealth light with convoy lamp), via the battery sensor LIN, stealth light control unit and stealth light LIN:
- ESP OFF button
- Hazard warning system button
- Parking system button (with code EZ8 (PARKTRONIC))
- Left front heated seat button
- Right front heated seat button
- Left front seat ventilation button (with code S50 (Seat ventilation for driver and front passenger seat) or code PA1 (Seating comfort package))
- Right front seat ventilation button (with code S50 (Seat ventilation for driver and front passenger seat) or code PA1 (Seating comfort package))
- Stationary heater button (with code H12 (Stationary heater))
- ECO start/stop function button (with code MJ7 (ECO start/stop function))
