as of Model year 2013 up to Model year 2019
Model 463.342
Shown on Model 463.23
Location
The rear control unit (N10/8) is installed behind the left-hand luggage compartment lining.
Tasks
The rear control unit supplies various systems via limit switches and supplies control units with voltage depending on the function sequence. The rear control unit is also responsible for the following tasks:
- Reading in of sensors and signals
- Evaluation of input factors
- Controlling functions
- Actuation of components
Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN (CAN B)
Direct line
The signals from the following components are read via direct lines:
- Roof system forward/backward limit switch (M12s1) (with code D27 (Power glass tilting/sliding roof))
- Roof system raise and lower limit switch (M12s2) (with code D27 (Power glass tilting/sliding roof))
- Rear-end door rotary tumbler switch (M14/7s1)
- Brake wear sensor, front left (S10/1)
- Right rear brake wear sensor (S10/4)
- Left rear seat heater button (S51/3) (for Model 463.23/24/27/34, except Model 463.342)
- Right rear seat heater button (S51/4) (for Model 463.23/24/27/34, except Model 463.342)
- Soft top locked switch, rear left (S84/1) (for Model 463.202)
- Soft top locked switch, rear right (S84/2) (for Model 463.202)
- Soft top unlocked switch, front left (S84/3) (for Model 463.202)
- Soft top unlocked switch, front right (S84/4) (for Model 463.202)
- Rear-end door external operation switch (S88/8)
Interior CAN
The signals are read in by the rear control unit over the interior CAN.
The functions that use these signals are described in the individual function descriptions (see the appropriate block diagram or function schematic).
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors are evaluated by the microprocessor and the corresponding components are actuated.
Controlling functions
- Rear seat heaters (for Model 463.23/24/27/34, except Model 463.342)
- Soft top (for Model 463.202)
- Sliding roof (with code D27 (Power glass tilting/sliding roof))
- Rear central locking
- Tank cap central locking
Actuation of components
The actuation of the components takes place via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Interior CAN
Direct line
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Rear left illuminated door sill molding (E17/51) (with code FR1 (Ambiance illumination))
- Right rear illuminated door sill molding (E17/52) (with code FR1 (Ambiance illumination))
