(Retrofitting Control Module - AN54.65-P-0010-04A)

Model 463 up to production date 9/1/96 

  1. Prepare bracket for BA control module (N62) for installation in rear pillar.

    IMPORTANT Align bracket A 463 820 15 14 with workbench.

  2. Screw BA control module (N62) onto bracket.
  3. Connect control cable set to control module.
  4. Mount bracket with control module (N62) in rear pillar.
  5. Connect cable (br) of control cable set to ground W29/6

  6. Connect cable (red) of control cable set to cable (grey/yellow) of reverse lamp (E7).

    IMPORTANT On vehicles with trailer hitch  the grey/yellow cable is routed inside the vehicle in a shop-made wiring harness.

    On vehicles without trailer socket  the cable (grey/yellow) (length approx. 1.5 m) must be routed inside the vehicle from the reverse lamp (E7) along the sensor cable set.

  7. Connect version coding resistor (1000 ohms) (R31) plug into no. 1 control cable set and secure with cable strap.
  8. Connect connector for warning element of backup assist (A44/1x1).
  9. Connect rear bumper sensors connector (X26/27).

  10. Connect high/low tone setting connector (X60/3).

    IMPORTANT No. 2 (black and black/white) of control cable set.

  11. Connect cable (brown/white) of microswitch to no. 4 cable (lilac/white) of control cable set.

    IMPORTANT On vehicles with trailer hitch only.

  12. Disconnect grey cable, no. 3 of control cable set.

    IMPORTANT The grey cable must be disconnected so that the continuous tone from the warning display already sounds at a distance of 50 cm between the vehicle and an obstacle.
