Location
The upper control panel control unit is located on the center console.
Tasks
The upper control panel control unit performs the following tasks:
- Receiving signals
- Sending signals

- Lower control panel LIN (LIN A3)
Direct line
The upper control panel control unit receives the signal for actuation of the flashing indicator in the hazard warning lights button over a direct line from the front SAM control unit (N10/6).
LCP LIN
The upper control panel control unit also receives the following signals over the UCP-LIN:
- Front passenger airbag OFF indicator lamp request
- Front passenger airbag ON indicator lamp request
- Anti-theft alarm system function indicator request (with code FZ5 (Anti-theft alarm system) or code FZ8 (Alarm system))
- Symbol lighting request

The upper control panel control unit sends the actuation of the hazard warning lights button over a direct line to the front SAM control unit.
