Function requirements, general

The status of circuit 15 is sent by the electronic ignition lock control unit (N73) as of production date April 3rd, 2018 (except Model 463.342) over the user interface CAN (CAN HMI) or up to production date April 2nd, 2018 or for Model 463.342 over the suspension CAN 2 (CAN E2) to the instrument cluster (A1).
Workshop level adjustments, general
The workshop level is used by technicians in the workshop for reading out vehicle and service data and provides assistance with carrying out service operations.
As of production date April 3rd, 2018 (except Model 463.342):
The Workshop menu is activated as follows:
- Select Total distance in the Trip menu.
- Press and hold the Home and Back button (S163/1 s14) for 1.5 s and press on the finger navigation pad for the instrument cluster (S163/1s10).
The instrument cluster switches to the Workshop menu. Wiping from top to bottom and vice versa in the sub-menus enables you to scroll through the sub-menus or lists. Selection is then made by pressing on the instrument cluster finger navigation pad.
The request is read in by the steering wheel electronics (N135) and sent over the steering LIN (LIN E1) to the steering column tube module control unit (N80). The steering column tube module control unit sends this request to the instrument cluster via chassis FlexRay (Flex E), electronic ignition lock control unit and user interface CAN.
Up to production date April 2nd, 2018 or for Model 463.342:
The "Workshop level" menu is activated as follows:
- Select "Trip" menu.
- Press right button of accept and end phone call button (S111 s3) then press the OK button. (S110s6) simultaneously for t > 3 s.
The display in the multifunction display (A1p13) changes to the workshop level. By pressing the scroll forward/back button (S110s1) in the left multifunction steering wheel button group (S110), it is possible to change between the respective menus and sub-menus or to scroll through various lists. Selection is then made by pressing the OK button.
The steering wheel electronics read in the control interventions on the multifunction steering wheel button groups directly and sends them to the steering column tube module control unit over the steering LIN.
The steering column tube module control unit transmits this request over chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1), electronic ignition lock control unit and chassis CAN 2 to the instrument cluster.
The following menus are accessible:
- "Vehicle data" menu
- "Dynamometer test" menu
- "Change brake pad" menu
- "ASSYST PLUS" menu
"Vehicle data" menu
The following data can be called up in the vehicle data menu:
- Voltage (in V) and amp draw (in A) in on-board electrical system
- Data from instrument cluster (e. g. version numbers, software releases)
- Engine data (e.g. engine number)
- Vehicle identification number (VIN)
"Dynamometer test" menu
Activating the dynamometer test prevents faults being entered in the Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/4) during the brake test on the roller dynamometer.
The following settings can be selected in the dynamometer menu:
- "On"
- "Off" with terminal 15 OFF
If the workshop menu is exited and the "Dynamometer test" menu was not deactivated prior to this, it will be automatically called up at the next driving cycle.
"Change brake pad" menu
In the "Change brake pad" menu, the following settings can be selected:
- "OK"
- "Move to assembly position"
"ASSYST PLUS" menu
The following data can be called up in the ASSYST PLUS menu:
- Service data
- Full service
After a service is performed, the service interval is reset in this menu.
