Location
The lower control panel control unit is located in the center console behind the selector lever.
Tasks
The lower control panel control unit performs the following tasks:
- Reading in of signals
- Sending signals
Reading in of signals
The lower control panel control unit reads-in function requests from the SAM control unit (N10) over the center console switch LIN (LIN B12) (except code E11 (Stealth lights with convoy marking)) or over the stealth lights LIN (LIN B40), stealth light control unit (N1) and the center console switch LIN (with code E11 (Stealth lights with convoy marking)).
Feedback on the following activities is provided by the LEDs in the buttons:
- Change from on-road ratio (High) into off-road ratio (Low)
- Change of damping system to "Comfort on" and "Sport off" or "Comfort off" and "Sport on" (with code A20 (Adjustable damping))
- Switch on of windshield heater (with CODE F49 (Heated windshield))
Sending signals
The lower control panel control unit sends the function requests for the following buttons over the center console switch LIN (except code E11 (Stealth lights with convoy marking)) or over the stealth lights LIN, stealth lights control unit and the center console switch LIN (with code E11 (Stealth lights with convoy marking)) to the SAM control unit:
- Low Range button
- Comfort/Sport (ADS) button (with code A20 (Adjustable damping))
- Windshield heater button (with code F49 (Heated windshield))
