Adjust Parking Brake On Roller Dynamometer - AR42.20-P-0550GW

Model 463 (except 463.234/255/274) 

as of model year 2013 up to model year 2019

INSPECT Check     
  Risk of death  caused by limbs being caught or crushed by rotating parts when performing tests on the brake test stand Never leave the vehicle unattended on the rollers except in an emergency. Ensure that no one is under the vehicle or near rotating parts during testing. In case of emergency, use the EMERGENCY OFF switch to shut down test stand. AS42.00-Z-0001-01A
  Information on function and performance test on roller dynamometer   AH00.10-P-1000-03A
1 Check brake lining thickness Remove/install brake shoes of parking brake
IMPORTANT If the minimum lining thickness is reached or undershot, the brake shoes must be replaced: ↓
AR42.20-P-0530GW 
    Brake lining wear limit, parking brake shoes on vehicles with disk brakes *BE42.10-P-1003-10A 
2 Remove trim (2) from parking brake lever Remove/install center console AR68.20-P-2000GW
3 Drive the vehicle on to the brake test stand and switch on the brake test stand    
4 Completely tighten and release parking brake lever 3 times.    
5 Tighten parking brake lever up to 4th notch.    
6 Check brake force IMPORTANT In the event of a complaint about the brake force:

IMPORTANT Check the brake force again after the adjustment: ↓

2019 Test value for parking brake, parking brake lever 4th notch
Adjust the brake force by twisting the adjusting nuts (10).

Repeat operation steps 4 to 6.

7 Apply and release the hand brake lever fully three times IMPORTANT Once the hand brake lever is released the unobstructed movement of the parking brake must be guaranteed.  
8 Slowly apply the hand brake lever fully Adjust parking brake AR42.20-P-0540GW 
    Remove/install brake shoes of parking brake AR42.20-P-0530GW 
    Remove/install parking brake cables
IMPORTANT In the process the brake force must increase evenly on both sides. If an even brake force cannot be achieved, the following measures can be used: ↓

9 Switch off brake test stand    
10 Install trim on hand brake lever Remove/install center console AR68.20-P-2000GW
