Opening Engine Hood, Moving To Upright Position And Closing - AR88.40-P-1000GG

Model 461 (except 461.339) 

Model 463 

up to model year 2019

  Opening, closing     
1 Unlock engine hood IMPORTANT Pull left release lever (1) under the instrument panel.
The hood opens up to end stop of the retaining hook (2).
 
2 Open engine hood IMPORTANT Lift hood somewhat, actuate retaining hook (2), and open hood.
The wiper arm must not be folded forward during this process.
 
3 Unhook gas-filled strut (4) Model 461 (except 461.331/339)
IMPORTANT Push back safety clip (3) at the gas-filled strut (4) with a screwdriver and, in doing so, pry off gas-filled strut (4) from the ball head.
IMPORTANT While doing this, hold hood.
 
4 Move engine hood to upright position NOTES Place suitable shims in between.
To prevent damage to the hood or body.
 
5 Close in reverse order
