	Risk of injury  caused by fingers being jammed or pinched when removing, installing or aligning hoods, doors, trunk lid/rear-end door or sliding roof.	No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving.	AS00.00-Z-0011-01A
	Check
1	Pull lever in driver footwell for unlocking hood and check whether lever returns fully.	If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
2	Grip front of hood, pull up and check whether safety hook (1) engages in locking pawl (3).	When doing so, do not touch release lever (2) of safety hook (1) or alter its position. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
3	Check safety hook (1) for ease of movement and proper operation.	When the engine hood is put down gently, the retaining hook (1) must engage automatically in the locking pawl (3). If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
4	Open hood; do not position vertically.
5	Check all lock elements for wear, cracks, deformation and damage.	Do not oil or grease any part of locking system. Hinges of hood are maintenance free. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
6	Check brushes (4) for damage and wear.	If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
7	Allow hood to drop freely into hood catches (6) from a height of max. 150 mm and check that closed hood is locked.	The locking pawls (5) must engage securely in both hood catches (6). Otherwise proper locking is not ensured. If problems are determined, ↓ rectify the problems. After obtaining special order.
