Location 

The electronic selector lever module control unit is located in the center console between the front seats.

Task 

General 

The electronic selector lever module control unit records the positions of the selector lever (non-contact) using inductive sensors.

The selector lever positions and touch shifts performed are detected in a contactless manner by means of optoelectronic switches. A photoelectric barrier is closed or interrupted each time the selector lever position is changed.

Controller Area Network (data bus/CAN bus) (CAN) 

The electronic selector lever module control unit is connected via the drive train CAN (CAN C) to the vehicle's CAN network, and exchanges data with other control units.
