Function requirements for InCar Hotspot, general
- The "WiFi" function in the COMAND controller unit is activated.
- The COMAND controller unit is connected to the Internet.
- A mobile terminal that supports WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) is available.
InCar Hotspot, general
The InCar Hotspot function allows users in the vehicle to surf the Internet in wireless fashion on mobile terminals and is realized by the COMAND controller unit. The COMAND controller unit as a Wireless Access Point (WAP) exchanges W-LAN data with mobile terminals via the antenna and transmits the signals to the Internet.
Internet access is described in the document titled "Internet connection function".
To connect the mobile terminal, the user must search for networks (Wireless Local Area Network) on the mobile terminal and select the COMAND controller unit network.
Several devices can be connected simultaneously.
