Digital TV tuner, component description - GF82.60-P-3118CAJ
MODEL 207 with CODE (498) Japan version with CODE (865) TV tuner up to model year 2013/YoM 12
Illustrated on model 207.3
Location
The digital TV tuner is located at the right rear in the trunk behind the paneling on a bracket.
Task
The digital TV tuner has the following tasks:
- Receive signals
- Demodulating and decoding signals
- Transmit signals
Receive signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- Direct lines
MOST
The TV digital tuner is a subscriber of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
Direct lines
- Electronic wake-up for MOST via a direct line
- TV 1 antenna amplifier (A94/1) via a coaxial cable
- TV 2 and KEYLESS-GO antenna amplifier (A94/2) via a coaxial cable
- TV 3 antenna amplifier (A94/3) (model 207.3) or TV 3 antenna amplifier, FM2 and DAB band III (A2/54) (model 207.4) over a coaxial cable
Demodulating and decoding signals
The TV signals that are received via the antenna amplifier are evaluated internally and separated into video and audio signals.
Transmit signals
The signals are transmitted via the following connections:
- MOST
- Direct line
MOST
The TV digital tuner is a subscriber of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND controller unit. The audio signals are transmitted to the COMAND controller unit or the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with code (810) Sound system).
Direct line
- Phantom power supply to following antenna amplifiers:
- TV 1 antenna amplifier
- TV 2 and KEYLESS-GO antenna amplifier
- TV 3 antenna amplifier (model 207.3) or TV 3, FM2 and DAB band III antenna amplifier (model 207.4)
- Transmission of video signals (Y-brightness (luminance)/C-color information (chrominance) (Y/C)) via Y/C lines to the COMAND controller unit
Design
The TV digital tuner is delivered with a "B-CAS card". The card reader in the digital TV tuner is sealed with a cover to prevent unintended removal of the "B-CAS card".
