Prepare rear longitudinal member section - AR64.20-P-1260-02EW

MODEL 212.0/1/2, 218.3 

IMPORTANT The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 212.0 and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Model 212.041

    Cut out sheet metal panel on rear longitudinal member (1) which is not required from rear longitudinal member (1) and remove.

  2. Grind mating surfaces on rear longitudinal member (1) and rear locking lug (2) down to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  3. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area A).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
