Reading in of sensors and signals
The input factors are read in via the following connections:
- Direct line
- Chassis CAN 1 (CAN E1)
- Vehicle dynamics CAN (CAN H)
Direct line
The following signals are read in via direct lines:
- circuit 30
- Circuit 31
- Brake vacuum sensor (B64/1) with CODE B03 (ECO start/stop function)
- Brake lights switch (S9/1)
- Left front axle rpm sensor (L6/1)
- Right front axle rpm sensor (L6/2)
- Left rear axle rpm sensor (L6/3)
- Right rear axle rpm sensor (L6/4)
Chassis CAN 1
The Electronic Stability Program control unit except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) is a subscriber to the chassis CAN 1. It communicates with the following control unit:
- Instrument cluster (A1) via chassis CAN 1 and interior CAN (CAN B) with front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module interface (N10/1)
- Steering column tube module control unit (N80)
- CDI control unit (N3/9) (with diesel engine) or ME-SFI [ME] control unit (N3/10) (with gasoline engine)
- Supplemental restraint system control unit (N2/10)
- Radar sensors control unit via chassis CAN 1 and chassis FlexRay (Flex E) with the chassis gateway control unit interface (N93/7)
- Left front door control unit (N69/1) via chassis CAN 1 and interior CAN with the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module interface
- Right front door control unit (N69/2) via chassis CAN 1 and interior CAN with the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module interface
- Trailer recognition control unit (N28/1) via chassis CAN 1 and interior CAN with the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module interface
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (N10/2) via chassis CAN 1 and interior CAN with the front SAM control unit with fuse and relay module interface
- Parking system control unit (N62) via chassis CAN 1 and chassis CAN 2 (CAN E2) with the chassis gateway control unit interface
- Electrical power steering control unit (N68) via chassis CAN 1 and chassis CAN 2 with the chassis gateway control unit interface
Vehicle dynamics CAN
Signals are read in via the vehicle dynamics CAN from the following components:
- Yaw rate sensor for lateral and longitudinal acceleration (B24/15)
Evaluation of input factors
The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.
Actuation of components
Components are actuated with the following line:
- Direct line
Direct line
The following components are actuated via direct lines:
- Rear SAM control unit with fuse and relay module (brake light actuation)
- Yaw rate sensor for lateral and longitudinal acceleration (power supply)
