Location 

The Electronic Stability Program control unit except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit (N30/7) with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) is located in the left front of the engine compartment on the traction system hydraulic unit.

Task 

The Electronic Stability Program control unit except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) includes the controls for the following systems:

IMPORTANT On vehicles with CODE 23P (Driving assistance package Plus), the variable speed limiter and the CC are integrated in the radar sensors control unit (N62/1).

The Electronic Stability Program control unit except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) has the following tasks:

Reading in of sensors and signals 

The input factors are read in via the following connections:

Direct line 

The following signals are read in via direct lines:

Chassis CAN 1 

The Electronic Stability Program control unit except CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) or the Premium Electronic Stability Program control unit with CODE 233 (DISTRONIC PLUS) is a subscriber to the chassis CAN 1. It communicates with the following control unit:

Vehicle dynamics CAN 

Signals are read in via the vehicle dynamics CAN from the following components:

Evaluation of input factors 

The input factors that have been read in are evaluated by the integrated microprocessor and the affected components are then actuated.

Actuation of components 

Components are actuated with the following line:

Direct line 

The following components are actuated via direct lines:
