The devices available in the MB workshops for spot welding of steel sheets can be used for aluminum sheets only under certain conditions.

Therefore, the following repair method for spot welding of aluminum sheets must be strictly observed.

Grind down spot weld flange on both sides to bare metal with a CrNi wire brush.
The V2A metal sheets in the ALU workshop vehicle (rustless, alloyed CrNi steel) must be attached at the spot weld flange with insulate clamping pliers.

While procuring a new spot welder, the spot weld capacity of aluminum must be noted.
