The voice control system (VCS) is solely possible in combination with the AEG telephone standard, code 274 or 314.

Vehicles with previously installed Mercedes-Benz telephone code 274 and 314 can be retrofitted with VCS.

In this case, the telephone line is only to be installed, the transmitter-receiver to be replaced and the activation switch installed.

For vehicles with preinstallation for standard telephone, code 272 and roof antenna, code 354 the handsfree system microphone and the roof antenna do not need to be installed.

The telephone wiring harness for the vehicles with code 272, 274 and 314 is exposed, all connections are disconnected, insulated and strapped down.

Bare body areas, e.g. around the holes, must be coated with zinc dust paint.
