MODEL 211

Depending on the vehicle equipment there may be one or two connectors for the Media Oriented System Transport (MOST) optical fiber.

The end of each optical fiber has an identification label with the number of the optical fiber or the number of the optical fiber is printed on to the end of the optical fiber. Make sure that the individual fiber optic cables are correctly reassigned.

The numbering of the optical fiber at the optical fiber (MOST) connectors is different depending on the vehicle equipment. The MOST fiber optic cable takes the form of a ring. When retrofitting a ring subscriber the optical fiber (MOST) connectors must always be reassigned so that the numbering is ascending.

Procedure

Determine numbered pair for existing optical fiber (MOST) connectors.
Detach optical fiber (MOST) connector with higher numbered pair "19" and "37".

If at least two optical fiber (MOST) connectors are available, the connector with the higher numbered pair is to be detached.

The optical fiber (MOST) connector with the lowest numbered pair "4" and "13" is not required.

Determine numbered pair for new optical fiber to be integrated.
Connect optical fiber number "19" of detached optical fiber (MOST) connector with optical fiber number "25" to be integrated.
Connect optical fiber number "31" to be integrated with optical fiber number "37" of detached optical fiber (MOST) connector.
