TELE AID (Telematic Alarm Identification on Demand) is an emergency call system which establishes a telephone link to an emergency call center automatically after activation of the system.

Abusive activation of an emergency call is prohibited and may be the subject of a fine.

If activated inadvertently, always wait for the call from the emergency call center. The emergency call center must be informed that the emergency call has been sent inadvertently to prevent the initiation of further rescue measures.

The emergency call system is activated automatically if an airbag has been triggered or if a vehicle rollover has been detected.

The emergency call system is activated manually with the SOS pushbutton switch (S933) in the overhead control panel.

When carrying out repair work on vehicles fitted with TELE AID, always ensure that the ignition key has been withdrawn from the ignition switch.

When carrying out work in the area of the overhead control panel, on wiring harnesses, on the TELE AID control unit or on the telephone control unit, disconnect the battery.

A tilting cone sensor (B66) is installed in the vehicle. This sensor must never by twisted out of its longitudinal or transverse axis with "circuit 15R ON", as otherwise the emergency call system will interpret this as a vehicle rollover and an emergency call will be sent automatically. Towing or recovering operations may only be performed on vehicles with TELE AID once the ignition key has been removed. Otherwise this may result in an inadvertent activation, caused by the tilting cone sensor (B66) responding.
