Wiper system, general 

The wiper system controls the wiping and washing of the windshield, as well as the rear window on model 218.9. The front SAM control unit evaluates all the input factors relevant for the individual functions and actuates the wiper system.

The wiper system function comprises the following subfunctions :

• Windshield wiper, function 
• Windshield washer, function 
• Headlamp cleaning system, function 
• Heating wiper support, function 
• Washer nozzle/washer nozzle hose heater, function 
• Rear window wiper system (WSA) function (in model 218.9.)
