Location
The media interface control unit is installed on the propeller shaft tunnel below the rear center console.
Task
The media interface control unit does the following:
- Receive signals
- Transmit signals
Receive signals
The media interface control unit receives the signals over the following connections:
- Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
- Direct lines
Media Oriented System Transport (MOST)
The media interface control unit receives control signals over the MOST from the audio equipment.
Direct lines
The media interface control unit reads in the following signals:
- Power supply via circuit 31 and circuit 30g
- Audio signals from the media interface electrical connector (X18/70)
- Electronic wake-up signal
Transmit signals
The media interface control unit sends the signals over the following connections:
- MOST
- Direct lines
MOST
The media interface control unit sends audio signals over the MOST to the audio equipment (without code (810) Sound system) or to the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with code (810) Sound system).
Direct lines
The media interface control unit sends control and operating signals over direct lines to the media interface electrical connector.
Apart from this, the media interface control unit supplies the media interface electrical connector with power over direct lines for operating portable terminals.
