The digital TV tuner is located at the right rear in the trunk, in front of the wheel well cutout behind the sidewall lining on a bracket.

The digital TV tuner is a participant of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND controller unit (A40/3).
Direct lines
- Power supply via circuit 31 and circuit 30 via one direct line each
- Electronic wake-up for MOST via a direct line
- TV 1 antenna amplifier (A94/1) via a coaxial cable (model 218.3)
- FM 2, DAB and TV antenna amplifier (A2/19), with CODE 537 (Digital radio) via the TV antenna splitter (A2/89) (model 218.9)
- TV 2 antenna amplifier (A94/2) (model 218.3) or TV antenna amplifier (A94/2) (model 218.9) via a coaxial cable
- TV 3 antenna amplifier (A94/3) via a coaxial cable
Demodulating and decoding signals
The TV signals that are received via the antenna amplifier are evaluated internally and separated into video and audio signals.

MOST
The TV digital tuner is a subscriber of the MOST, via which it communicates with the COMAND controller unit. The audio signals are transmitted to the COMAND controller unit or the sound system amplifier control unit (N40/3) (with CODE 810 (Sound system) or CODE 811 (Advanced sound system)).
Direct line
Supply voltage via signal line to the following antenna amplifiers:
- TV 1 antenna amplifier (model 218.3)
- FM 2, DAB and TV antenna amplifier, with CODE 537 (Digital radio) via the TV antenna splitter (model 218.9)
- TV 2 antenna amplifier (model 218.3) or TV antenna amplifier (model 218.9)
- TV 3 antenna amplifier
- Video signals via Y/C lines to COMAND controller unit
Body
With CODE 498 (Japan version) the digital TV tuner is delivered with a "B-CAS card". The "B-CAS card" is designed as a subscriber identification module (SIM) card and inserted in the SIM card reader. The SIM card reader does not have a cover.
