Remove Inner Sidewall With Outer Rear Wheel Well - Ar63.10-P-6051-01LWR

Model 205.4 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and cut out (areas A).
  2. Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area J).
    1. 3.1 Left side of vehicle.

      Expose spot weld on inner side wall (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area B).

    2. 3.2 Right side of vehicle.

      Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and cut out (area B).

  3. Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and cut out (areas C).

  4. Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and cut out (area D).
  5. Turn over sheet metal tabs (3) on inner side wall (1).

  6. Expose spot welds on inner side wall (1) and strut (2) and cut out (areas E).

    IMPORTANT Common spot welds on the inner side wall (1) and strut (2) must be cut through by two panel thicknesses.

  7. Expose MIG solder seams on inner side wall (1) and cut (area F).

  8. Heat inner side wall (1) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.

  9. Remove inner sidewall (1).
  10. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  11. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  12. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

  13. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  14. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  15. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas G).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  16. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  17. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  18. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfacers with zinc dust paint (area H).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
