Remove C-Pillar - Ar63.20-P-0500-01LW

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Expose spot welds on C-pillar (1) and end plate (4) and cut out (areas A).
- Heat end plate (4) in crosshatched area.
Cross-hatched area is bonded.
- Remove end plate (4) together with foam parts.
Heat foam areas if required.
- Expose spot welds on C-pillar (1) and strut (2) and cut out (areas B and C).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas C).
- Heat body in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded.
- Remove C-pillar (1) and strut (2).
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal on inside (area D).
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area D).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
