Prepare New Rear Fender - Ar63.50-P-1400-03LW

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Mark separating point on rear fender (1) and cut (area A).
Transfer separation point from vehicle.
- Cut out spot welds on lock striker bracket (2) (area B).
Only if C-pillar is not replaced.
- Drill spot weld on lock striker bracket (2) with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area C).
Only if C-pillar is not replaced.
- Remove locking eye bracket (2).
Only if C-pillar is not replaced.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area D).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear fender (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area E).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
