Install C-Pillar - Ar63.20-P-0500-03LW

MODEL 205.0/1 

The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

1. install C-pillar (1) and strut (2), fit and fix in place.
2. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes in C-pillar (1) and strut (2) (areas A₁ und A₂ ).
3. Remove C-pillar (1) and strut (2).
4. Deburr rivet holes on C-pillar (1), strut (2) and body on both sides.
5. Remove drilling chips.
6. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

   Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area A₂ ).

   Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

7. Clean contact surfaces of foam parts (3) on C-pillar (1), apply sealant to C-pillar (1) and insert foam parts (3).
8. Apply sealant to foam part (3) (area C).
9. Apply 2-component adhesive to C-pillar (1) in crosshatched area (area B).

   Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

10. Install C-pillar (1) and strut (2) and fix in place.
11. Rivet C-pillar (1) and strut (2) with Ø 6.4x12 rivets (areas D₁ and D₂ ).
12. C-pillar (1) and strut (2) (areas E).
13. Apply 2-component adhesive to C-pillar (1) in crosshatched area (area F).

    Immediately before installing fender.

    Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

14. Insert foam parts on end plate into rear fender with sealant.

    Immediately before installing fender.
