The following steps are shown on model 205.0.
- Expose spot welds on rear wall paneling (1) and cut out (area A and B).
Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas B).
- Dill clinch connections on rear wall paneling (1) with Ø 6 mm bit (area C).
The clinch connections can also be separated with a riveter for self-piercing and flow-form rivets.
- Expose spot welds on rear wall paneling (1) and drill with Ø 6.5 mm (areas D).
- Heat rear wall paneling (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Heat rear wall paneling (1) in crosshatched areas.
Cross-hatched areas are bonded with adhesive.
- Remove rear wall paneling (1).
- Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas E).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
