Remove Spare Tire Well - Ar64.20-P-1245-01LWR

Model 205.4, 238.4

  1. Mark separating point on front spare wheel well (1) and cut (area A).
  2. Remove front spare wheel well (1).

  3. Expose spot welds on rear spare wheel well (2) and cut out (area B).

  4. Expose spot welds on section of front spare wheel well (1) and cut out (area C).
  5. Expose self-piercing riveting on the section of the front spare wheel well (1) and drill through with a diameter of 6 mm (area D).

  6. Heat section of front spare wheel well (1) in crosshatched area.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched area is bonded.

  7. Remove section of front spare wheel well (1).

  8. Grind mating surface down to bare metal in crosshatched area.
  9. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.

  10. Grind mating surface down to bare metal in cross-hatched area on both sides.
  11. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  12. Apply zinc dust paint to inside of spot weld flanges.
