Prepare Rear Longitudinal Member Section - Ar64.20-P-1260-02LW

CAUTION Risk of injury  caused by scraping or cutting body parts on sharp vehicle parts Always wear protective gloves when working on or near sharp and non-deburred vehicle parts. Deburr repair panels. See AS00.00-Z-0017-01A .

REPAIR MATERIALS

BR00.45-Z-1056-07A 1K-zinc dust paint A 000 986 28 00

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

IMPORTANT The following repair materials must be used:

  1. Grind mating surfaces on rear-end floor (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  2. Remove grinding dust.
  3. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas A).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  4. Grind mating surfaces on rear-end floor (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  5. Remove grinding dust.
  6. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas B).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.

  7. Grind mating surfaces on rear longitudinal member (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal on insides (areas D).

    Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  8. Remove grinding dust.
  9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas C and D).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
