The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
The following repair materials must be used:
- Zinc dust paint
- Grind mating surfaces on rear-end floor (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas A).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear-end floor (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas B).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
- Grind mating surfaces on rear longitudinal member (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal on insides (areas D).
Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove grinding dust.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas C and D).
Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
