Process Filler On Body - AR60.00-P-0031-01LWG

IMPORTANT Below is a description of how to use and handle basic body filler (2-component basic epoxy body filler).

Basic body filler is suitable for:

Illustrated on C-pillar separating point 

  1. Sand repair area down to bare metal (figure A).

    IMPORTANT Basic body filler must not be used on painted or primed surfaces (including near edges).

  2. Clean repair area with commercially available silicone remover.
  3. Apply 2-component adhesive in repair area (figure B).

    Only when replacing parts in the vicinity of seams (MAG weld seam, MAG lock stitch seam or MIG solder seam).

    IMPORTANT To ensure that the components are uniformly mixed, a quantity of adhesive amounting to the length of two measuring tubes must first be pressed out and discarded. No further preliminary treatment is required to work with the 2-component adhesive.

  4. Apply 2-component adhesive to repair area with a brush or putty knife (figure C).

    Only when replacing parts in the area of seams (MAG weld seam, MAG lock stitch seam or MIG solder seam).

    IMPORTANT Use a brush with plastic bristles.

    IMPORTANT Next, basic body filler can applied wet on wet on top of the previously applied 2-component adhesive.

  5. Basic body filler Apply in a wavy line (figure D).

    IMPORTANT Warming the cartridge in the cartridge heating box beforehand (max. 60°C) facilitates the application of basic body filler from the cartridge.

    To ensure that the components are uniformly mixed, the first 10 cm of the mixed materials must be discarded (if mixed correctly, the mixture is gray).

  6. Spread on basic body filler (figure E).

    IMPORTANT The processing temperature is 15°C to 35°C.

    The filler is hardened within 60 min. with the aid of an infrared lamp (max. 60°C).

    If drying naturally, the hardening time varies from 8 to 24 h, depending on layer thickness and ambient temperature.

    Shock cooling is to be avoided. Before treating further, make sure that all coats are thoroughly hardened and dry.

  7. Restore surface in repair area.
