Remove Inner C-Pillar Side Wall - Ar63.10-P-0700-01LW

MODEL 205.0/1 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be accomplished analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Mark separating points on C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (area A).

    NOTES Do not cut too deeply.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    a1 = approx. 40 mm

    a2 = approx. 45 mm

  2. Expose laser seams on C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (area B).
  3. Expose spot welds on C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2) (areas C and D).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (area D).

  4. Expose spot welds on C-pillar side wall (1) drill with Ø 6.5 mm bit (area E).
  5. Heat C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2) in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Cross-hatched areas are bonded.

  6. Remove C-pillar side wall (1) and reinforcement (2).

  7. Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched inner C-pillar sidewall.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  8. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  9. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (areas E). Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces.
