Remove C-Pillar - Ar63.20-P-0500-01CLW

Model 205.3 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed in the same way on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Mark separating point on C-pillar (1) and cut (area A).

    NOTES Do not cut too deeply.

    Otherwise the components below can be damaged and weakened.

    IMPORTANTDimensions: 

    a1 = approx. 170 mm

    a2 = approx. 145 mm

  2. Expose and cut out spot welds on C-pillar (1) and strut (2) (areas B and C).

    IMPORTANT Cut out spot welds through two panel thicknesses (areas C).

  3. Sand down mating surfaces to bare metal in cross-hatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  4. Position mating surface for overlap (area D).
  5. Remove grinding dust and drill chips.
  6. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surface with zinc dust paint (area D).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
