Prepare Inner Side Wall And Outer Rear Wheelhouse For Installation - Ar63.10-P-6050-02CLW

Model 205.3 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Cut laser seams on inner C-pillar side wall (1) (areas A).
  2. Cut out spot welds on inner C-pillar side wall (1) (areas B).
  3. Expose spot welds on inner C-pillar side wall (1) from inside and cut out (area C).
  4. Mark separating point on inner C-pillar side wall (1) and cut (area D).

    IMPORTANT Transfer separation point from vehicle.

    Observe overlap of approx. 5 mm.

  5. Grind mating surface on inner C-pillar side wall (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched area (area E).

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area E).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.

  6. Grind mating surfaces on inner C-pillar side wall (1) down to bare metal in crosshatched inner C-pillar side wall.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

    IMPORTANT Grind mating surface down to bare metal on both sides (area F).

  7. Remove grinding dust.
  8. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
  9. Grind mating surfaces on reinforcement (2) down to bare metal in the crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Sand down spot weld flanges to bare metal on both sides.

  10. Remove grinding dust.
  11. Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area G).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

    IMPORTANT Observe preliminary treatment of bonding surface.
