Partially Install Side Longitudinal Member Paneling - Ar63.30-P-1040-03CLW

Model 205.3 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Install longitudinal member paneling (1), fit and fix in place.
  2. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on longitudinal member paneling (1) (areas A and B).
  3. Remove longitudinal member paneling (1).
  4. Drill rivet holes in crossmember (1) and deburr on body on both sides.
  5. Remove drilling chips.
  6. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

    NOTES Do not coat bonding surfaces with zinc dust paint (area A).

    Otherwise adhesion problems may occur.

  7. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for curing and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  8. Install longitudinal member paneling (1) and fix in place.
  9. Rivet longitudinal member paneling (1) with Ø 6.4x12 rivets (area C).
  10. Rivet longitudinal member paneling (1) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area D).
  11. Longitudinal member paneling (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (areas E).
  12. Longitudinal member paneling (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (areas F).

    IMPORTANT Inert gas weld in intervals and allow to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  13. Grind inert gas welds down flat.
  14. Clean weld joints.
  15. Solder surfaces on side longitudinal member panel (1) in area of inert gas welds with body solder and smooth.
  16. Remove solder residues.
