Install Longitudinal Member Outer Shell On Entrance - Ar63.30-P-1102-03CLW

Model 205.3 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

IMPORTANT When using Celette straightening system, also use anchoring set 9212.013.

Install adjustable fastening brackets with following dimensions:

  1. Install longitudinal member outer shell (1) with straightening tool, fit and fix in place.
  2. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes outer longitudinal member shell (1) (area A).
  3. Remove straightening tool and longitudinal member outer shell (1).
  4. Deburr rivet holes on longitudinal member outer shell (1) and body on both sides.
  5. Remove drilling chips.

  6. Apply sealant to foam part in longitudinal member outer shell (1) in crosshatched area.

  7. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  8. install longitudinal member outer shell (1) and fix in place with straightening tool.
  9. Rivet longitudinal member outer shell (1) with Ø 6.4 rivet (area B).
  10. Rivet longitudinal member outer shell (1) with Ø 6.4 M6 rivet (area J).
  11. Rivet longitudinal member outer shell (1) with Ø 6.4x12 rivet (area C).
  12. Longitudinal member outer shell (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (areas D).
  13. Longitudinal member outer shell (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area E).

    IMPORTANT Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.

  14. Grind inert gas weld down flat on longitudinal member outer shell (1) (area F).

    IMPORTANT Grind down flat only on beaded areas and contact areas of longitudinal member paneling.

  15. Install reinforcement (2), fit and fix in place.
  16. Drill Ø 6.7 mm rivet holes on reinforcement (2) (area F).
  17. Remove reinforcement (2).
  18. Deburr rivet holes on reinforcement (2) and body on both sides.
  19. Remove drilling chips.
  20. Coat with zinc dust paint insides of those riveted joints that will not be bonded.
  21. Insert foam parts (4) with sealant.
  22. Apply sealant to foam parts (4) in crosshatched areas (areas G).
  23. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas (areas H).

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  24. Install reinforcement (2) and fix in place.
  25. Rivet reinforcement (2) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivets (areas K).
  26. Rivet reinforcement (2) with Ø 6.4 M6 rivet (area L).
  27. Reinforcement (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (areas M).
  28. Clean weld joints no longer accessible after installing longitudinal member paneling and coat with zinc dust paint.
