Install Inner Sidewall With Outer Rear Wheel Well - Ar63.10-P-6051-03LWR

Model 205.4 

IMPORTANT The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.

  1. Install inner side wall (1) and fit.
  2. Install waist line reinforcement.
  3. Install rear fender and fit.
  4. Fix inner side wall (1) in place.
  5. Remove rear fender.
  6. Remove waist line reinforcement.
  7. Drill rivet holes in inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (areas A).
  8. Drill rivet holes in inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (area Q).

    Left side of vehicle.

  9. Drill holes for plug welding on inner side wall (1) with Ø 7 mm bit (area G).

    IMPORTANT Drill holes through one panel thickness (area G).

  10. Remove inner sidewall (1).
  11. Deburr rivet holes on inner side wall (1) and body on both sides.
  12. Remove drilling chips.

  13. Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.

    IMPORTANT Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.

  14. Install inner side wall (1) and fix in place.
    1. 15.1 Left side of vehicle.

      Rivet inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.4x12 rivet (area C).

      IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.4 mm

    2. 15.2 Right side of vehicle.

      Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (area C).

  15. Rivet inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.5x12.5 rivet (area P).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 3.5 mm

  16. Rivet inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.5x14.5 rivet (area D).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 6.0 mm

  17. Rivet inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.4 rivet (area E).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 9.3 mm

  18. Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (areas B).

  19. Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (areas F).

  20. Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (area H).
  21. Inner side wall (1) SHIELDED GAS PLUG WELD (area I).
  22. Turn over sheet metal tabs (3) on inner side wall (1).

  23. Rivet inner side wall (1) with Ø 6.5x14.5 rivet (area J).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 6 mm

  24. Inner side wall (1) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (areas K).
  25. Inner side wall (1) SHIELDED GAS SEAM WELD (area L).

    IMPORTANT Perform inert gas welding at intervals and allow to cool down in between. This reduces heat distortion.

  26. Install strut (2) with portal bracket, fit and fix in place.
  27. Drill rivet holes in strut (2) with Ø 6.7 mm bit (area O).
  28. Remove strut (2).
  29. Deburr rivet holes in strut (2) and body on both sides.
  30. Remove drilling chips.
  31. Coat insides of riveted joints with zinc dust paint.

  32. Install strut (2) with portal bracket, fit and fix in place.
  33. Rivet strut (2) with Ø 6.4x12 rivet (area M).

    IMPORTANT Clamping range 2.5 mm

  34. Strut (2) POLARIZATION RESISTANCE SINGLE ROW SPOT WELD (areas N).
  35. Remove portal bracket.
  36. Clean weld joints that are no longer accessible after installation of waist line reinforcement and fender, and coat with zinc dust paint.
