The following steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Apply 2-component adhesive to body in crosshatched areas.
Observe pretreatment of bonding surfaces and manufacturer's specifications for drying and processing time of 2-component adhesive.
- Apply sealant to B-pillar (1) in crosshatched area.
- Install B-pillar (1) with portal bracket, fit and fix in place.
Use spacers.
- B-pillar (1)
(areas A and B).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Grind inert gas weld down flat (area B).
- B-pillar (1)
(areas C).
- Solder surfaces on B-pillar (1) with body solder and smooth (area B).
Alternatively to restorage of the surfaces with body solder, it is also possible to use a body basic spatula.
- B-pillar (1)

- B-pillar (1)
(area E).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Remove portal bracket.
- Support (3)
(areas F).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Crossmember reinforcement (2)
(area G).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Install mounting rail (5), fit and fix in place.
- Drill rivet holes on mounting rail (5) with Ø 6.7 mm (areas H).
- Remove mounting rail (5).
- Deburr rivet holes on mounting rail (5) and B-pillar (1) on both sides.
- Remove drilling chips.
- Install mounting rail (5), fit and fix in place.
- Rivet mounting rail (5) Ø 6.5x12., rivet (areas I).
Clamping range 3.8 mm.
- Mounting rail (5)
(area J).
Inert gas weld in intervals and allow welding area to cool down in between. Reduces heat distortion.
- Solder surface on mounting rail (5) with body solder and smooth (area J).
