Replace deformation part for engine hood hinge - AR91.60-P-0911LW

Model 205 with code U60 (Active Bonnet (Pedestrian protection))

DANGER Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating range of the mechanism when moving components. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
REMOVING Remove     
1 Open engine hood (1)    
2 Replace engine hood lifter After triggering of pedestrian protection.  
AR91.60-P-0900LW 
3 Reverse engine hood (1) NOTES
Care must be taken not to exert too much pressure over a small area on the surface or the outer edges of the engine hood (1). Otherwise the engine hood (1) may be damaged.
IMPORTANT The pins (3) must engage completely in hook of respective hood securing lever (2).
 
4 Remove screw/bolt (6) and deformed hinge damper (5)    
INSTALLING Install     
5 Clip panel (4) into engine hood (1) After triggering of pedestrian protection.
IMPORTANT Make sure that washer fluid hose and if necessary electrical lines are routed correctly.
 
6 Cover inside and contact surface of bolt head of screw/bolt (6) on outside of new hinge damper (5)    
7 Paint outside of new hinge damper (5)    
8 Install new hinge damper (5) and tighten screw/bolt (6) IMPORTANT Pay attention to correct installation position of new hinge damper (5).
IMPORTANT Adapt color of bolt head of screw/bolt (6).
 
TORQUE SPECIFICATION Screw/bolt, hinge damper to engine hood hinge *BA91.60-P-1004-02A 
9 Coat new hinge damper (5) and screw/bolt (6) with cavity preservation IMPORTANT Protect surrounding areas from cavity preservation.
Apply cavity preservation using a brush.
 
Cavity preservation, solvent-free (1 l container) *BR00.45-Z-1011-05A 
10 Check gap dimension from engine hood (1) to fender   AR60.00-P-0700-01LW

SPECIAL TOOL Feeler gauge
In the event of deviating gap dimensions:

Adjust engine hood (1).
