| 1 | Remove rear door lining | AR72.12-P-1010LW | |
| 2 | Remove rubber grommet (2) from door module (1) | ||
| 3 | Close crank window (3) via driver side power window and outside mirror adjustment switch group until bolt (4) is accessible through assembly opening in door module (1) | ||
| 4 | Loosen screw (4) | ||

| 5 | Detach side window (3) from power window, completely push upward and secure against falling down with suitable adhesive tape (5) | ||
| 6 | Switch off ignition and remove transmitter key | ||
| 7 | Disconnect battery ground line | AR54.10-P-0003LW | |
| 8 | Unlock left rear door electrical connector (X35/3) or right rear door electrical connector (X35/4) by pulling bracket on electrical coupling (6) and disconnect | ||
| 9 | Pull out lock tab (8) until catch hook (9) can be actuated | Figure | |
| 10 | Press catch hook (9) with suitable screwdriver until electrical connector (7) can be loosened from inner door panel | ||
| 11 | Guide electrical connector (7) into rear door | ||
| 12 | Remove door handle (10) | ||
| 13 | Loosen bolts (11) | ||
| 14 | Push bearing bracket (12) toward front and unhook from door paneling | ||
| 15 | Unscrew bolts (13) from door lock | ||
| 16.1 | Remove screws/bolts (14) | When fastening door module (1) with bolts (14). if screws (14) are stripped, larger diameter screws are available from EPC. Repair stage 2: If larger screws are also stripped out, blind rivets for mounting door module (1) are available from EPC. |

| 20 | Completely remove rivet residues and drilling chips from rear door | When fastening door module (1) with blind rivets (15). Remove rivet residues and shaving completely. Otherwise remaining rivet residues can cause corrosion damage on rear door. |
