Remove/install front seat backrest seat-back lining - AR91.10-P-1910LW

Model 205 except code 555 (AMG Performance seats) 

Model 253 except code 555 (AMG Performance seats)

REMOVING Remove     
1 Unclip cover (2) from seat-back lining (1)    
2 Move driver or front passenger seat all the way to the rear and adjust upwards    
3 Use suitable rag to cover up inner paneling (3), outer paneling (5) and center console (9), or mask off using suitable duct tape NOTES
The visible surfaces of the inner cover (3), outer cover (5) and center console (9) must be protected against damage.
Otherwise the inner paneling (3), outer paneling (5) or center console (9) may become scratched.
 
4 Insert suitable screwdriver, as shown, between seat-back lining (1) and inner cover (3) and position on retaining plates of inner latching (4) and the rubber strap deflector IMPORTANT The insertion depth (a) of the screwdriver should be approx. 11 cm.  
5 Pull seat-back lining (1) upwards and to rear, push and pound screwdriver forcibly forward and release inner latching (4) NOTES
Make sure that the screwdriver is placed onto the retaining plates for the inner latching (4) and the rubber strap deflector.
Otherwise the seat-back lining (1) may become damaged.
IMPORTANT The inner cover (3) acts as a support when pushing or pounding forward.
 
6 Insert suitable screwdriver, as shown, between seat-back lining (1) and outer cover (5) and position on retaining plates of outer latching (6) and the rubber strap deflector IMPORTANT The insertion depth (a) of the screwdriver should be approx. 11 cm.  
7 Pull seat-back lining (1) upwards and to rear, push or pound screwdriver forcefully forward and release outer catch (6) NOTES
Make sure that the screwdriver is placed onto the retaining plates for the outer latching (6) and the rubber strap deflector.
Otherwise the seat-back lining (1) may become damaged.
IMPORTANT The outer cover (5) acts as a support when pushing or pounding forward.
 
8 Carefully pull inner side bolster (7) and outer side bolster (8) of seat-back lining (1) to one side, route over inner cover (3) and outer cover (5)    
9 Remove seat-back lining (1) downwards    
INSTALLING Install     
10 Position seat-back lining (1) at top onto backrest frame    
11 Carefully pull inner side bolster (7) and outer side bolster (8) of seat-back lining (1) to one side, route over inner cover (3) and outer cover (5)    
12 Push seat-back lining (1) upwards and latch inner latching (4) and outer latching (6) into place NOTES
Make sure that the lines of the backrest are outside the clamping range of the seat-back lining (1).
Otherwise the seat-back lining (1), the inner latching (4), outer latching (6) or the lines of the backrest may become damaged.
NOTES
The hooks (10) for the seat-back lining (1) must be fully located in the upper supports of the backrest frame before latching into place. Otherwise the inner latching (4), outer latching (6) and the seat-back lining (1) may become damaged.
 
13 Remove rag or duct tape from inner paneling (3), outer paneling (5) and center console (9)    
14 Move back driver or front passenger seat    
15 Clip cover (2) to seat-back lining (1)
