As part of ongoing technical development, the coolant was changed in the above models in April 2014.
The previous anti-corrosion agent/antifreeze G48® (green/blue color) has been replaced in series production with anti-corrosion agent/antifreeze G40® (violet color).
The vehicle identification end numbers and the dates for the coolant change are listed below:
- Model 906 as of production period 28.07.2014
For those models which were filled at the factory with G48® (green/blue color) until the production changeover, this coolant should continue to be used. It is not permissible to mix anti-corrosion agent/antifreeze G48® (green/blue color) and G40® (violet color). Any mixing would result in a rust-brown discoloration. This discoloration may result in complaints. Before refilling, it is necessary to ascertain which anticorrosion/antifreeze agent was used to fill the vehicle.
Each anticorrosion/antifreeze agent can be determined by the color.
- Violet color: Anti-corrosion agent/antifreeze G40®
- Green/blue color: Anticorrosion/antifreeze agent G48®
