Task

The wastegate pressure transducer uses vacuum to control the wastegate position (open, closed and intermediate positions) via the wastegate vacuum unit depending on the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal from the CDI control unit (N3/28).

Input signals Direct input signals

The wastegate pressure transducer receives a PWM signal from the CDI control unit.

IMPORTANT If the charge-air volume and boost pressure is generated solely by the low-pressure turbocharger depending on the engine's load condition, the wastegate pressure transducer can be used to limit the charge-air volume and the boost pressure of the low-pressure turbocharger.

IMPORTANT Air is admitted to the wastegate pressure transducer via the same filter used for air entering the boost pressure control flap pressure transducer (Y93/1).

IMPORTANT When installing the vacuum lines, observe the color markings on the vacuum line and the vacuum unit.
