Component Description For WASTEGATE Control Pressure Transducer - GF09.40-D-2151HD
ENGINE 651.955/957 in MODEL 906
Location
View of the engine from the front
The wastegate pressure transducer is located in the front right at the cylinder head.
Task
The wastegate pressure transducer uses vacuum to control the wastegate position (open, closed and intermediate positions) via the wastegate vacuum unit depending on the pulse width modulation (PWM) signal from the CDI control unit (N3/28).
Input signals Direct input signals
The wastegate pressure transducer receives a PWM signal from the CDI control unit.
If the charge-air volume and boost pressure is generated solely by the low-pressure turbocharger depending on the engine's load condition, the wastegate pressure transducer can be used to limit the charge-air volume and the boost pressure of the low-pressure turbocharger.
Air is admitted to the wastegate pressure transducer via the same filter used for air entering the boost pressure control flap pressure transducer (Y93/1).
When installing the vacuum lines, observe the color markings on the vacuum line and the vacuum unit.
