General Information On Twin-Spot Welding - Ah60.00-N-0036-01H
MODEL 906
Spot welding is permissible where the repair point is not accessible with the resistance spot welding device electrodes.
A ground terminal is used when spot welding instead of the 2nd electrode. The back pressure required when spot welding is realized through the configuration.
Observe the following before starting the spot welding process:
- Read out fault memory
- Check if there are any codes for theft protection (e.g. for the radio)
- Disconnecting the battery
- Disconnect any electronic components (e.g. Control units, alternators, supplemental restraint system components) in the immediate vicinity of the repair point
- The welding point must be metallic bright
If an appropriate resistance spot welding device is not available in the repair workshop to perform the spot welding process, then the areas in question can also be plug welded. Preparatory activities such as making the holes for plug welding and the process of grinding down to bare metal have to be adapted accordingly.
