Cut Front Longitudinal Member To Passenger Compartment Floor Area - Ar62.20-D-1240-12H
The following operation steps are shown on the left side of the vehicle on model 906.733 and must be performed analogously on the right side in the event of damage.
- Expose spot welds on vehicle floor (2) and front longitudinal member (1) (areas A, B, C, D, E, E1 , E2 , F, F1 and F2 ).
- Cut out spot welds on vehicle floor (2) and front longitudinal member (1) (areas A, B, C, D, E, E1
, E2
, F, F1
and F2
).
Cut spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (areas C, E1 , E2 , F1 and F2 ).
- Expose spot welds on vehicle floor (areas U, V, W and X).
- Cut out spot welds on vehicle floor (areas U, V, W and X).
Cut spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (area V1 ).
- Expose weld seam on vehicle floor (area T).
- Grind open weld seam on vehicle floor (area T).
- Expose spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (area S).
- Cut out spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (area S).
The spot welds are cut from the bottom side of the vehicle (area S).
- Expose spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (areas G, H, H1 , I, I1 and J).
- Cut out spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (areas G, H, H1
, I, I1
and J).
Cut spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (areas H1 and I1 ).
- Cut front longitudinal member (1) with course saw cut (areas O and P).
- Expose spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (area Q).
- Cut out spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (area Q).
Cut spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (areas Q1 and Q2 ).
- Bend open lug (3) in crosshatched area.
- Expose spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (area R).
- Cut out spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (area R).
- Expose spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (areas K, L, M and N).
- Cut out spot welds on front longitudinal member (1) (areas K, L, M and N).
Cut spot welds through two sheet metal thicknesses (area K).
- Remove damaged front longitudinal member (1).
- Drill Ø 7 mm holes on vehicle floor (2) (area Y).
- Grind crosshatched areas on vehicle floor (2) down to bare metal around holes.
- Grind mating surfaces down to bare metal in the cross-hatched areas.
Grind spot weld flanges down to bare metal on both sides.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
- Coat insides of spot weld flanges with zinc dust paint.
- Grind mating surfaces on vehicle floor (2) down to bare metal in crosshatched areas.
- Remove shavings and drill chips.
