	Removing
	Risk of injury caused by body parts being trapped or crushed when working on a partially open Vario roof (in stop mode) or in its closing area as a result of the Vario roof suddenly collapsing	Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.	AS77.50-Z-0001-01A
	Risk of death caused by touching parts conducting high voltages	Do not come into contact with parts that are under high voltage. Persons who are carriers of electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers), must not carry out any work on high-voltage on-board electrical systems.	AS77.00-Z-0001-01A

1	Remove paneling (2) from Vario roof front section (3)	Vario roof is closed.
2	Actuate Vario roof actuation switch in the open direction until the front locks (1) are unlocked and the Vario roof front section (3) still makes contact with the crossmember above windshield
3	Unclip Bowden cable (4) from left and right front lock (1)
4	Unscrew bolts (5) and remove front lock (1) from Vario roof front section (3) and allow to hang down electrical and hydraulic lines	Do not detach hydraulic lines. Otherwise hydraulic lines may be damaged. Mark installation position of front locks (1) to be removed before removal. Observe retaining disks (12) on corresponding screwing points.
5	Unscrew bolt (6) and remove left Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/2) or right Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/3) from front lock (1)	On model 231 remove left and right Vario roof limit switch (S69/5) from front lock (1).
6	Remove securing clamp (11) and bolts (8, 9)
7	Remove front lock hydraulic cylinder (10) from front lock (1)	Do not actuate Vario roof control switch (S84/s1) when front lock hydraulic cylinder (10) is removed. Otherwise the front lock hydraulic cylinder (10) can be damaged.
8	Mark installation position of left or right Bowden cable (4) on counterbearing (7)
9	Remove Bowden cable (4) from counterbearing (7)
	Install
10	Install bolt (8) with safety clip (11)	For this purpose position front lock hydraulic cylinder (10) in front lock (1).
11	Install bolt (9) with safety clip (11)	For this purpose position mount on piston rod of front lock hydraulic cylinder (10) in front lock (1) with suitable screwdriver.
12	Position left Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/2) or right Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/3) on front lock (1) and tighten bolt (6)	On model 231 left and right Vario roof locked limit switch (S69/5).
13	Position front lock (1) on Vario roof front section (3) and screw in bolts (5)	Install front lock (1) on marking and ensure that retaining disks (12) are installed. Position bolts (5) only, do not tighten. They are tighten later when adjusting.
14	Clip Bowden cable (4) into front lock (1) and install on counterbearing (7)	Observe installation marking.
15	Check gap dimension between Vario roof front section (3) and crossmember above windshield, adjust if necessary	If the gap dimension is correct, tighten bolts (5), otherwise adjust gap dimension. See: ↓
