REMOVINGINSTALLING Remove/install    
DANGER Risk of injury.  Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities. No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of the mechanism when the components are moving. AS00.00-Z-0009-01A
1 Remove engine covers    
2 Slacken poly-V belt and remove INSTALLATION NOTES
Do not use belt wax or similar products. This would otherwise leads to slipping of the poly-V belt.
IMPORTANT To do so, swivel clamping device (1) at hexagon (4) counterclockwise, remove poly-V belt and loosen clamping device (1).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT Observe poly-V belt routing plan.

INSPECT Check     
3 Inspect belt pulley sections, tensioning device (1) and guide pulleys (3) IMPORTANT Check for damage, wear and dirt; replace if necessary.  
4 Check poly-V belt    
REFER TO MAINTENANCE Check visible area of poly-V belt for wear IMPORTANT Check for damage, wear and dirt; replace if necessary. AP13.22-P-1352EW 
  Only perform steps 5 through 9 for remove/install of clamping device (1).     
5 Remove front section of lower engine compartment paneling   AR61.20-P-1105RK
6 Lock clamping device (1) IMPORTANT Swivel clamping device (1) at hexagon (4) counterclockwise and lock in place using drift (8).  
7 Remove screw/bolts on clamping device (1) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, poly-V belt tensioning device to timing case cover BA13.25-P-1001-01Y 
8 Remove clamping device (1) downwards    
9 Slacken clamping device (1) When replacing the clamping device (1)
IMPORTANT To do this clamp tensioning device (1) in a vise, swivel at hexagon (4) in a clockwise direction, pull out drift (8) and slacken tensioning device (1).
INSTALLATION IMPORTANT The clamping device (1) can be mounted in both a locked and an unlocked condition.
 
  Only perform steps 10 through 12 for remove/install of the guide pulleys (3) on the left engine side.     
10 Remove left charge air ducts IMPORTANT When removing the guide pulleys (3) on the left engine side AR09.41-P-8620RKB
11 Remove screw/bolts for guide pulleys (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, guide pulley to carrier BA13.25-P-1002-01Y 
    TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, guide pulley to coolant pump/oil filter/timing case cover BA13.25-P-1005-01Y 
12 Remove guide pulleys (3)    
  Only carry out steps 13 and 14 when removing/installing the upper guide pulley (3)     
13 Remove screw/bolt, carrier to upper guide pulley (3) TORQUE SPECIFICATION Bolt, guide pulley carrier/ABC pump to timing case cover/coolant pump BA13.25-P-1003-01Y 
14 Remove upper guide pulley (3) and carrier from timing case cover    
15 Install in the reverse order
